Before we get into the details, you can check out our best phones of 2019.
PS: These are leaks and might be different from finished products.
In no particular order;
SAMSUNG GALAXY S20
Here's everything you need to know about the galaxy s11/ s20. The name has not been confirmed yet but the leaks suggest that the main selling point of the device is the camera, the possible 108MP camera as well as a 120Hz display, a faster Snapdragon 865 processor and 5G connectivity. You can also expect larger batteries on all variants. Samsung has also posted a video of its new Isocell bright HMX image sensor which might up being on the phone which will improve the camera quality compared to its predecessor.
SAMSUNG GALAXY FOLD 2
Samsung has a busy year ahead of them in 2020 which is no surprise to us, they will announce their first set of phones in February and based on the leaks we have seen up to this point, the Galaxy fold 2 will feature a 6.7-inch display and will fold on the horizontal axis rather than the vertical one. Though the current Galaxy Fold retails for nearly $2000, the new one will be available for about $1000.
HUAWEI P40 /40 PRO
Huawei will be launching the P40 and P40 pro this coming March without google services according to Richard Yu, the head of the company's customer business group. The phone is expected to have 4 cameras on the back. The flagship model should benefit from a Penta-camera setup on the rear, with a 64 MP Sony IMX686 primary sensor with OIS, a 20 MP ultrawide snapper, a 12 MP periscope telephoto, a dedicated macro camera, and a ToF 3D camera. The P40 is said to sport a flat display with a size of 6.1" or 6.2". The P40 Pro, on the other hand, will go with a 'waterfall' type screen that curves on all four sides, measuring 6.5" to 6.7"
Both displays will be OLED and house embedded fingerprint sensors. The P40 Pro's has previously been rumored to have a 120Hz refresh rate, Quad HD+ resolution, and a screen-to-body ratio of 98%. The device is expected to come with a 5500mAh battery with 50W fast charging. It will be powered by the Kirin 990 SoC, with 5G. Android 10 will be powering the EMUI 10 experience but won't come with Google apps and services.
ONE PLUS 8 PRO
The OnePlus 8 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2020, along with the OnePlus 8 Pro with is mostly an improvement on the previously mentioned device. Following the pattern set by One plus, we can expect the One plus 8 and One plus 8 Pro to be released in late spring or early summer. We’re expecting at least two phones, but probably three, and given the prices for its predecessors, we don’t expect the standard OnePlus 8 to cost less than $599 / £549 / AED 1,949 (around AU$868).
Leaks suggest the following;
-The Pro would shrink from 6.67 inches down to 6.5 inches, or possibly even 6.44.
- OnePlus 8 Pro will have a 6.7-inch screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, and the OnePlus 8 and 8 Lite will have a 6.44-inch screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. Each of them is set to have a Super AMOLED display.
- fourth rear camera(60MP cameras, joined by a 16MP on each, then a 13MP on the Pro and 12MP)
-OnePlus 8 Pro will have a 4,500mAh battery, and the others will have 4,000mAh power packs.
-OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will have the upcoming Snapdragon 865 chipsets, which will be top-end processors with unrivaled speeds as usual.
GOOGLE PIXEL 4A
The phone's predecessor was known as a phone that delivered in a lot of areas without being as expensive as other phones with the same features and this year's device does not look like it will disappoint. The phone has kept its headphone jack which almost all smartphones have abandoned and more noticeably, the phone does not come with a notch like a pixel 4.
We don't know much about the phone's specifications but the phone is rumored to come with 4 or 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Despite the square camera bump, the phone only has one camera, which presumably will be similar in quality to the Pixel 4‘s. There’s no word on when the Pixel 4a might launch, but last year that was in May during Google I/O. We will keep you updated...

iPhone 12
The Apple iPhone 12 is a phone that has been subject to leak after leak and this is a summary of all those leaks. One of the areas most of us were excited about was the new radical design but it looks like Apple might disappoint and stick to its old design. With more radical concepts (as above) seemingly off the radar, a far more basic design (almost identical to the iPhone X / XS / 11 Pro) has now been spotted. There is still time for this to change, but Apple looks set to make its biggest advances internally this year such as;
- iPhone 12: 6.1-inch (same as iPhone 11)
- iPhone 12 Pro: 5.4-inch (Vs 5.8-inch iPhone 11 Pro)
- iPhone 12 Pro Max 5G: 6.7-inch (Vs 6.5-inch iPhone 11 Pro Max)
- 120Hz Pro motion display
- Touch ID
