LEAKED: Google Pixel 6, renders and everything we know so far

Pixel 6 Pro

Google has been playing it safe since the introduction of Pixel 4 and 4xl. They were the last devices where google tried to do something that made them stand out from the sea of Android devices on the market. But the reception of Pixel 4 in relation to the soli radar chip was not the best. This in conjunction with the Pixel 3a becoming a hit made Google focus its attention on the budget sector for Pixel 5. Rumors pointed to some internal and external changes to the upcoming Pixel 6 but no one thought they will be this drastic.

A massive leak from Jon Prossor who has a good track record has revealed the new and unexpected design for the Pixel 6 scheduled to be released later this year. The eye-catcher is the back design. Google definitely took inspiration from the Pixel 1 and 2 which had a two-tone back design. However, Pixel six appears to have a three-tone back design due to the new horizontal camera design which travels the full width of the back.

We already know that the Snapdragon won’t be the Soc powering the device, instead Google in collaboration with Samsung has developed a custom chip. Therefore it makes sense for Google to have a new outward design to mark that internal change. One thing is for sure, Google is not playing it safe with the design this time. Like it or hate it, you will remember this design and that is exactly what they want.
