Samsung announced its next iteration of wireless earphones, the Galaxy Buds Pro at this year's Samsung Unpacked Event. Going for 149$, it would be available in blue, white, red and black colours.

Notable changes include increased battery life. From 6 to 11 hours on a single charge which would be extended by the Charging Case to 22 hours before you'd need to charge again. In cases where the battery is completely drained, three minutes of charge would provide one hour of playing time.

Audio Fidelity has also been significantly improved with the introduction of dual dynamic drivers (a woofer and a tweeter). Two external mics have been added to improve noise reduction during calls. It still makes use of "Noise Isolation" instead of Active Noise cancellation as seen in the Airpods Pro and Sony's 1000x earbuds.

The Galaxy Buds Pro still keep the same touch controls. Launching Spotify has been made much easier - all you'd need to do is hold the left earbud.  Like the AirPods Pro, the Buds have multi-device pairing. An iOS app has also been developed to make it more iPhone-friendly.  The Buds Plus also have an IPX2 rating for water-resistance (they can resist water that hits the product at 15% angle or less).

It would be available online on February 14 and hit shelves 6th of March. Even better, those who preorder the Galaxy S20 Plus and S20 Ultra would get it for free. The Buds Plus won't be slowing Airpods sales but is being marketed to serve as a companion to the new range of Galaxy devices.
