Microsoft's Surface Event 2019: major announcements & headlines

It's the annual Surface event to showcase the latest hardware from Microsoft. In the previous year, Microsoft revealed the new Surface Pro 6 and Surface Laptop 2 alongside Surface Studio 2 and new Surface headphones. There were a lot of major announcements and updates from today's event. Here's a wrap-up.

1. New Surface Laptop 3 will come with a new 15-inch model and USB-C

Microsoft says that this product is three times faster than Apple’s current MacBook Air. Microsoft worked with AMD to co-engineer the new Ryzen “Surface Edition” processor in its 15-inch Surface Laptop 3.

2. Microsoft announces Surface Pro 7 with USB-C Port 

Surface Pro 7 is the latest model of Microsoft's notebook and it gets a big upgrade this year. It charges via USB-C. The Surface Pro 7 also has Intel’s 10th Gen processor and is available for pre-order. Click on the link to read more about pricing.

3. The New Surface Earbuds!

Microsoft is introducing a new pair of wireless earbuds to join the company’s noise-cancelling headphones. Microsoft introduced Surface Earbuds, a set of truly wireless headphones that offer up to 24 hours of battery life with its charging case. 

4. Microsoft announces Surface Pro X 

It is ARM-powered with a custom SQ1 chip, LTE and a USB-C. The Surface Pro X is the first ARM-based Surface from Microsoft since the Surface 2 launched back in 2013. It’s available pre-order right now for $999, and it will be available in November.
Microsoft has developed a new version of Windows 10 called Windows 10X. It’s made specifically for multi-screened devices, like the Surface Neo. Microsoft says that it can run all apps, and it must be expecting an influx of devices like these to hit the market.

6. The Surface Duo ( a device to allow cross-functionality between Windows 10 and Android)

This a surprise as the company has announced an Android-powered foldable tablet that meets phone.
It has phone functionality and will have access to the Google Play Store since it runs on Android.
