New Microsoft Surface 3 announced with USB-C support

You remember how the Surface become one of the best notebooks? It was when it released its model in 2017 - a laptop with a balanced price, performance, portability and design. The company just announced Surface laptop 3 and it looks like Microsoft has made some changes to the Laptop's design in a few ways. The major one is the most awaited USB-C port so you can plug multiple peripherals and chargers.

  • Now, you’ll be able to buy an even larger 15-inch Surface Laptop instead of just the 13.5-inch model.
  • Previously, if you wanted a 15-inch laptop from Microsoft, you’d have to spend a princely sum for the Surface Book with its detachable screen and stylus.
  • The 15-inch model has an AMD — not Intel — processor inside!

What was traditionally the Surface Laptop’s most striking feature, its Alcantara fabric covering the keyboard deck, no longer comes standard on every model. The fabric’s not gone for good, but the company’s opted for a plainer bare aluminium finish on at least one of these new laptops.

Pricing

They’ll start at $999 (GH₵ 5,370.87) and $1,199 (GH₵ 6,446.12) for the 13.5- and 15-inch models, respectively, with preorders open today and shipping October 22nd.
