PS5 release date, price and more confirmed!

After the long wait and year of uncertainties, Sony today finally announced the PS5 launch dates and price. Microsoft unveiled the prices of the Xbox Series X and Series S last week.

During the first reveal of the Play Station 5, aside from showcasing some of the new games, Sony also put it across that there were going to be two variants of the next-gen console; the Disc version and the Digital Edition with the only difference being the absence of a disc tray in the latter.

The confirmed dates for the PS5 release is the 12th of November for customers in the US, Canada, Japan, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea and the 19th of November for the rest of the world. As predicted two years ago, the PS5 will launch in 2020!

In mid-June when Sony revealed some the games including Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the price of NBA 2K21 for the PS5 was also confirmed at $70 (~ GH₵400), $10 more than the standard price for PS4 games.

Another major highlight from the PlayStation 5 showcase is the price of the game titles. Sony confirmed that games like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Demon’s Souls and Destruction All Stars for $70 same price as the NBA 2K21—this is to further affirm the base price of games on the PS5.
