The new installation would introduce a new top-down perspective. However, fans should still expect its  "intense combat, exploration, puzzle-solving, epic boss battles and serpent holes from heaven to hell." The game would also feature two-player co-op, each player taking control of one of the two Horsemen of Apocalypse, War or Strife.

Half-Life: Alyx is a full-length VR first-person shooter set between the first two installments of the series. It is the first new Half-Life game in 12 years. Players would control Alyx Vance as she and her father fight the alien combine.

The game's announcement came as a surprise, but makes sense; as the Resident Evil 2 remake sold extremely well. The game would feature Jill Valentine, Carlos Oliveira among others.

Cyberpunk 2077

CD Projekt Red, creators of the Witcher 3, will release Cyberpunk 2077, probably the most hyped game of 2020.  Players will control V, a mercenary outlaw in an open-world, an action-adventure story set in a futuristic city called Night City.

Minecraft Dungeons

Release Date: April 2020 | Platform(s): PS4, Xbox One, PC, Switch
Minecraft Dungeons is a spinoff of the widely popular series. It is set in the same world as previous installments but would introduce a new engine, mechanics, items, and story. The game would also feature a drop-in multiplayer for up to four players.

Marvel's Avengers


Release Date: May 15 | Platform(s): PS4, Xbox One, PC, Switch
This game would mark the first time since 2005, Crystal Dynamics has developed a video game outside the Tomb Raider franchise. It would feature offline single-player mode or online with up to four players during certain aspects of the game. Playable characters would include Hulk, Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Thor, and Kamala Khan.

The Last of Us Part II

After 7 long years, Naughty Dog is releasing the sequel to its massive success, The Last of Us. The game would take place after the events of the first. However, unlike the first game, you would play as Ellie in across what Naughty Dog calls "by far" its biggest game yet.

Dying Light 2

The game is a sequel to 2015's Dying Light. More than double the parkour moves have been added since the first game. The sequel also introduces increased consequences for player decisions. 

Ghost of Tsushima

You would play as a Samurai Warrior in 1274 Tsushima. According to Sony, this would be "the biggest game Sucker Punch has ever made my a wide margin".

Halo Infinite

The next installment in the franchise would launch holiday, 2020 with Project Scarlett. Xbox One and PC versions will also be released. 343’s Bonnie Ross said Infinite is a “spiritual reboot” for the beloved franchise.

Godfall was announced for PS5 and PC during The Game Awards 2019.  The game is described as a "looter-slasher". It supports single-player and up to three players "drop-in drop-out" co-op mode.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

It will be the sixth and most ambitious entry in the  TT Games' Lego Star Wars series of video games and the sequel to Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It features levels from all Star Wars Skywalker saga series of films. Playable characters include Luke, Rey, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Finn, BB-8, Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine, Kylo Ren, and more.

Microsoft Flight Simulator

Flight Simulator is the eleventh entry in the Microsoft Flight Simulator series. It will simulate the entire Earth using data from Bing Maps in 4K. It is shaping up to be one of 2020s most breathtaking games.
