Intel has announced its 9th gen chips, including the Core i9 processor. The Core i9 processor offers 8 cores and 16 threads, clocked at a base frequency of 3.6 GHz, which can be boosted up to 5.0 GHz. This is the best gaming processor in the world. Along with the Core i9 processor, Intel also announced the 9th gen Core i5 and Core i7 models.
Pre-orders for the 9th gen chip are opened and set to ship on October 19th. The chips are priced far more modestly than predicted with Core i9 set to cost $488. Core i7 and i5 set to cost $373 and $262 respectively. For high-end users, Intel announced its Core X-series processors which are set to release sometime November.
The way forward
Performance-wise Intel says the chips are squeezing at high speeds and supposed to be 10% faster than last year's models. There are also some nice improvements on the chip for, particularly serious users.
