Even the Marvel Cinematic Universe came to a standstill after COVID. This is the first time since 2009 that no new MCU movies were released in a year ("unless you add New Mutants which was not really worth the wait"). . After an 18 months hiatus we will finally get to see some new content. This year is already shaping up to be the busiest in Marvel history. From the Marvel TV shows to the movies, here's a rundown of everything coming to Disney+ or hopefully cinemas and when they would be released.
WandaVision
January 15 | Available on Disney+
WandaVision will see Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany return to their MCU roles, Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch and Vision, the latter of which is still definitely dead. The story finds the pair being transported to the almost perfect and fictional town of Westview by Wanda's reality bending powers. They would attempt to live out a sitcom-inspired life. WandaVision will also feature the MCU returns of Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings), Jimmy Woo (Randall Park), and adult Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), as well as the introduction of Agnes (Kathryn Hahn).

Morbius
Jared Leto is a biochemist who transforms into a vampire while searching for a cure for a rare blood disease. The movie will be Jared Leto's debut as Morbius the Living Vampire and features a cast that includes Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, and Jared Harris. The trailers also teased a world where Spider-Man is a murderer and featured a cameo from Michael Keaton's Vulture, which could mean it is set in the MCU proper.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan return as Sam Wilson aka Falcon and Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier. Despite not really enjoying each others' company, they'll team up to the anarchist group known as the Flag-Smashers. The story will also deal with Captain America's legacy while the U.S. government tries out a new Captain America; John Walker (Wyatt Russell) despite Steve Rogers handing his shield to Sam in the "Avengers: Endgame".
Black Widow
Black Widow was supposed to kick-start the MCU's Phase 4 with a summer 2020 release. Scarlett Johansson returns one last time as Natasha Romanoff in a film that takes place in between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. She teams up with her Russian family from the Black Widow program, including Red Guardian (David Harbour) and Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) to battle the Taskmaster.
Loki
Loki (Tom Hiddleston) returns once more after seemingly dying three times in a series set outside of the main MCU timeline. It will follow the Loki who escaped from the Avengers in 2012 using the Tesseract - as shown in Avengers: Endgame. It will see Loki team up with the Time Variance Authority and seemingly visit multiple alternate MCU timelines.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage
Tom Hardy returns as Eddie Brock aka Venom, with Woody Harrelson cast as the main villain Cletus Kasady aka Carnage. Cletus Kasady made a brief appearance in the post-credits scene of Venom. The plot is still a mystery however there are speculations of a cameo by Tom Holland as Peter Parker aka Spider-Man.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
Simu Liu makes his debut as Shang-Chi, a skilled martial artist in Marvel's first Asian-led superhero film. The cast icludes Awkwafina, Fala Chen and Michelle Yeoh. The real Mandarin played by Tony Leung is set to make a debut. Story details for the movie have yet to be revealed officially.
What If...?
The MCU's first animated series will take important events in the MCU and place a special twist on them to show what would happen if things went differently. Some of the confirmed storylines include Peggy Carter taking the Super Soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers, Yondu picking up T'Challa instead of Peter Quill and one involving a zombified version of Captain America. .
Eternals
Eternals will introduce the Eternals, a group of superhumans created by the Celestials. It stars Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Gemma Chan, Kit Harington, Barry Keoghan, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Don Lee, and Lia McHugh. The Eternals come out of hiding to to protect Earth from their nemesis, The Deviants.
Spider-Man Homecoming 3
Tom Holland returns to star as Spider-Man, with Zendaya back as MJ, Marisa Tomei back as Aunt May, as well as other regulars from the franchise. Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is confirmed to appear thus confirming a story tied to the multiverse. Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina) are supposedly back, with reports also suggesting Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will both appear as Spider-Men from other universes. This could be the last "Spider-Man" film in the MCU due to the custody issue between Marvel and Sony.
Ms. Marvel
The series would introduce Iman Velani as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel. Kamala Khan is a Muslim-American living in New Jersey when she gets polymorphic abilities due to her Inhuman genes. The character is incredibly popular because she is the first Muslim superhero in Marvel Comics.
Hawkeye
The series picks up after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Jeremy Renner returns as Clint Barton, who trains Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) to be the next Hawkeye. Hawkeye will introduce several new characters to the MCU, such as Echo (Alaqua Cox) and Swordsman (Tony Dalton). It will also bring back Yelena Belova after Black Widow.
