Apple’s iOS 13.5 makes it easier to Unlock your iPhone while wearing a Mask

Apple has released the public version of iOS 13.5 which would make unlocking your iPhone while wearing a face mask easier. This makes it one of the most important updates in such a time especially for frontline health workers who spend the majority of their time wearing a face mask.

If you have an iPhone that has an in-built Face-ID, the update bypasses the Face ID feature in order to speed up the unlocking process. You will still need to enter your passcode to unlock your iPhone but at least it minimizes the time it takes to unlock your device.

To use this feature you simply need to update your iPhone to iOS 13.5.
Update iOS
  •   Go to Settings
  •   General
  •   Software Update and download the latest version

Aside from this feature, the iPhone-maker is also rolling out its coronavirus notification API built alongside Google. The software which the two tech giants call an “exposure notification” tool will utilize Bluetooth radios within smartphones. The API will be available to any government or health authority to build an app. This will alert people who have been in close proximity to someone who has been tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Both Apple and Google are involved in coronavirus contact tracing software. At the moment, almost 22 countries on five continents have requested access to its software. You can find this feature in Settings > Privacy > Health > COVID-19 Exposure Logging.
