SKYPE 'RETURNS' WITH A NEW 'FAMILIAR' FEATURE WE ALL LOVE

Your chats can now be end-to-end encrypted. Yes! Only you and the recipient can access your conversation!!!
Seems like almost everyone spends very little or no time on skype since the most popular apps recently like Facebook, Snapchat, WhatsApp, etc introduced the video and audio calling features into their various apps

You might want to go back to skype because, they have integrated "end-to-end encryption" in their app and unlike the others, you have to decide to opt-in or out. After a few months of testing, they have finally managed to secure the chats using the Signal Protocol technology.

To opt-in, you must start a Private Conversation like Telegram's Secret Chat feature, by selecting “New Private Conversation” from the compose menu or the recipient’s profile. An invite will be sent to the recipient and on approval, and all calls and messages that transpire within that conversation will be encrypted end-to-end until it is terminated.

The only "con" is that, it is limited to a device at a time and although chats can be switched to another device, anything sent would be tied to the currently active device. The "pro" is that it's cross-platform, meaning it will work with all the various devices which the app can be installed.
